About the Sustainability Task Force

The CALS Sustainability Task Force was established to explore how the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences could become more engaged in sustainable agriculture efforts, including highlighting what it has already accomplished, identifying additional opportunities to invest in research, teaching and extension and understanding how the college can lend its leadership to the national conversation on sustainable agriculture. More about the creation of the Sustainability Task Force.

Paul Lasley, professor of sociology, chairs the task force (view the members), which has brought in guest speakers, developed an overview of existing efforts in sustainability underway in the college and an external scan of how other agricultural colleges have engaged in sustainability.

The task force has prepared a report (PDF) of its first year of activities.
